LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Crews battled a house fire in Lincoln County early Wednesday morning.
Flames broke out just before 5:00 a.m. at 6472 Fairview Road in Vale. A resident told NBC Charlotte five people were in the house at the time along with five dogs. No injuries were reported.
The resident said they woke up to smoke filling the house and believe a light in the attic caught fire. The damage to the house was mainly in the back, but it was considered a total loss.
The cause was under investigation as of 7:30 a.m.
