Second suspect identified in December 26 Huntersville homicide

Police in Huntersville are investigating after two people were shot December 26.

Police are investigating after one person was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting in Huntersville on December 26. 

Medic was called to a reported shooting in the 11000 block of Bryton Pass Lane off Hambright Road in Huntersville around 10 a.m. When officials got the scene, one of the victims was declared deceased at the scene. 

A second victim was rushed to CMC Main with non-life threatening injuries, officials say.

Police have identified the person killed as 28-year-old Zonta Monti Dunlap of Concord, N.C. 

Huntersville Police have identified the two suspects connected to the shooting. Ivan Fernando Petty, 23, was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with murder-first degree, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon. 

23-year-old Kelton, or KT, Tyrich Silver of Charlotte has been identified as the second suspect involved in the murder of Dunlap. Silver has two outstanding warrants: murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
