1 jailed, 1 hospitalized in Lenoir stabbing

A Lenoir man is facing jail time after allegedly stabbing another man then running from officers.

LENOIR, N.C. -- A Lenoir man is facing jail time after allegedly stabbing another man then running from officers.

Late Monday afternoon, Lenoir Police responded to a stabbing call in the 1800 block of Forest Hill Park Place. The victim, Roger Donald Evens, of Lenoir, was found in the driveway, suffering from a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

While first responders administered aid, Evens identified the assailant as Bobby Lee Holsclaw.

Witness confirmed Holsclaw as the suspect, and said he fled the scene on foot.

After canvassing surrounding neighborhoods, officers found Holsclaw near the intersection if Walt Arney Road and Hampton Heights Street. He led police on a brief foot chase, authorities say, before being taken into custody.

Holsclaw is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. His bond was set at $250,000.

Evens was taken by air to CMC Main in Charlotte. Police described his condition as serious but stable.
