CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital after a shooting in southeast Charlotte Thursday night.
The shooting happened around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday on Jonquil Street, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Police say one victim was found at that scene after someone shot into a home. Medic said that the person suffered minor injuries.
Minutes later, CMPD was called to a medical facility on Billingsley Road to treat two more people who transported themselves from the shooting on Jonquil Street. Both victims suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting. Police say the two incidents are related.
CMPD said two people were shot, and one person was injured when a bullet hit a nearby tree and caused splinters to injure them.
No information was provided on any suspects at this time. More information will be provided when it is available.
