2-year-old shot in northwest Charlotte

The little girl's name is not being released at this time.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 2-year-old girl was shot early Saturday morning, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. 

CMPD's report said the house located in the 400 block of Wildwood Avenue, which is northwest of the intersection of Interstate 85 and Freedom Drive, was damaged during the shooting, as well as two cars parked at the property. Authorities said the house was "shot into."

The little girl's name is not being released at this time. She was taking to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. 

A 57-year-old woman, a 41-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were home at the time of the shooting, which took place around 2:30 a.m. They were not injured in the incident. 

No arrests have been made in this case, and it is still under investigation.
