GASTONIA, N.C. — Three people were arrested in connection with a human trafficking case involving a teen in Gaston County.
Robert Allen Derr of Gastonia was charged with two counts of human trafficking child victim, one count of 1st-degree kidnapping, four counts of accessory before the fact to a felony, one count of sexual servitude child victim, and one count of indecent liberties with child.
Derr received a $1,000,000 bond.
Rhodri Omar Ross of Gastonia was charged with statutory rape with child less than 15, statutory sex offense with child less than 15, and 1st-degree kidnapping.
Ross' bond has yet to be determined.
Jack Alexander Phillips of Belmont was charged with two counts of statutory rape of child less than 15. His bond was $500,000 bond.
The suspects were being held in the Gaston County Jail.
Detectives said the sexual encounters occurred in Gastonia and in Gaston County.
The arrests made by Gastonia Police, Gaston County Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crimes Task Force were the result of a 7-month investigation.
The agencies worked closely with the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office.
