Five arrested in Chester County drug search, sheriff says

The arrests stem from a search warrant deputies executed at a home near Great Falls Highway.

CHESTER, S.C. — Five people were arrested in a South Carolina home during the execution of a search warrant by the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, a spokesperson said.

On Wednesday, deputies went to a home near the intersection of Great Falls Highway and Aiken Creek Road, and arrested five people who were living there.

This was part of an ongoing investigation involving narcotics sales, the spokesperson said.

Carl Hampton Loving was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl.

Christopher Emile Gregory Maxon was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. This was Maxon's third offense, according to the sheriff's office.

Nancy Hines Mullinax was wanted by the York County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear on a previous drug possession charge. Mullinax and Jessica Leigh Yarborough were also charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Jacob Shackelford was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Lancaster County.

Deputies later arrested Dennis William Keen Jr., who they identified as a co-conspirator in the case. They said they found him to be in possession of a "large quantity of what is believed to be fentanyl."

All of those arrested in this case are U.S. citizens who live in South Carolina, according to records obtained by WCNC Charlotte.

Sheriff Max Dorsey released a statement that points to his frustration with the "flow" of drugs from other countries.

"It is inexcusable that dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine flow across our Country’s borders so easily.  The men and women of the Chester Sheriff’s Office consistently put drug traffickers and dealers in jail, but this war must be fought more aggressively at the borders," Dorsey said.
