CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- Catawba County deputies arrested dozens of people Wednesday for drug dealing charges.
The Sheriff's Office is dubbing it "Operation 98 Degrees" as they are targeting 98 people.
"If the people are committing crimes, my officers are still going after them and making arrests," Sheriff Coy Reid said.
Sheriff Reid said drug arrests have gone up under his watch by 85-percent.
He said many of these arrests were the result of tips from the community which shows people have been supportive as police-community relations remain a hot topic nationwide.
"They're willing to call us and give us the information we need to make cases," Sheriff Reid said.
This is the department's third roundup this year.
