CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed to WCNC Charlotte that the agency was assisting with an active situation in Chesterfield County Wednesday night.
SLED's helicopter was in the air for nearly three hours Wednesday night, and WCNC Charlotte had a crew in the area working to find out more information about this incident.
WCNC Charlotte's crew went to multiple active scenes to find out more information. At the Pageland Community Center, several Pageland police vehicles were circling another car with their lights off.
The Pageland police were not able to share information with our crew, only that the scene was unsafe. WCNC Charlotte's Julie Kay spoke with a resident who received a call from county officials asking him to shut off the power in that area. But he was not told why.
At the Stars Sports Gym, there were more police cars with lights on, but no police to speak with.
WCNC Charlotte has reached out to the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office but has not heard back. We will keep working to learn more about this incident.
