ALBEMARLE, N.C. — An 18-year-old woman is facing charges in connection with a double shooting in Albemarle last Saturday.
Albemarle Police responded to a shooting along North Carolina 24 near the North Carolina 27 bypass around 2 a.m. on Aug. 10. When officers arrived, they found two women who'd been shot. Both victims were taken to the hospital, one of whom had life-threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, detectives spotted the suspect vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, at a home in Norwood. The suspect, 18-year-old Amanda Mcauley, was arrested. She is charged with two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling/vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon. She's being held at the Stanly County jail on those charges.
Officers said the shooting appeared to be a domestic incident.
