ALBEMARLE, N.C. — The man accused of shooting at the Albemarle Police Department headquarters this week was arrested and charged for the same allegations in 2020, according to police.
James Edgar Amaendus Kindell, 38 of Badin, North Carolina, was arrested Tuesday and charged with shooting at the police headquarters building on West South Street early Sunday morning. The building and an unoccupied police car were struck by gunfire, according to police.
No one inside the building was injured when the shooting occurred around 5:15 a.m.
Kindell is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, injury to real property, injury to personal property and discharging a firearm inside the city limits.
Kindell was arrested and charged with shooting at the former police headquarters in 2020, according to police. That case is still pending with future court proceedings.
