SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Allisha Watts’ mother, Evex Franklin, has asked questions about her daughter’s death last year.
Why was Watts killed and dumped near a cemetery? Why is Watts’ boyfriend, James Dunmore, charged in her murder?
“All I do is cry all the time,” Franklin said. “That is a tear. I can’t dry up.”
Franklin’s home in Southern Pines is surrounded by pictures of her late daughter. She also looks after Watts’ dog, Midnight.
“He comforts me,” Franklin said.
Franklin said she thinks about her daughter murdered and left for dead.
“I think about how my baby was laying near a graveyard,” Franklin said.
