DAVIDSON, N.C. — An anonymous bomb threat was made to Temple Kol Tikvah, a synagogue in the town of Davidson.
It happened Wednesday morning according to town communications officials.
"It's a pattern that keeps repeating in the Jewish community over and over again," Senior Rabbi Michael Wolk with Temple Israel in Charlotte said.
Temple officials said they also had another email threat that happened in October.
Wolk said incidents like this have a big impact on daily operations.
"We recently lost the electricity, and you know, all of a sudden, everybody just kind of stood still and was like, oh, like, do we panic," Lori Trapani, with Jewish Family Services, said.
Davidson Police and Davidson Fire both responded to the threat, and Davidson K-8 School was placed on temporary lockdown as a precautionary measure.
"It's scary each time one of these happens, but it's part of life for us at this point," Wolk said.
"I just wish everyone could get along," Trapani said.
Wolk said as the call for unity and change continues to linger, they’re continuing to turn to traditions and belief for guidance.
"We draw a lot of strength from our faith and we continue to turn to traditions and belief as a source of structuring guidance in difficult times," Wolk said.
Details about the incident are limited at this time, but officials said the investigation is still active and ongoing.
