WADESBORO, N.C. — An Anson County High School student was caught attempting to bring a gun into school on Tuesday morning.
School Resource Officers from the Wadesboro Police Department found the gun in the student's book bag as the student was going through the metal detector before school started.
Officials say that there were no threats or acts of violence towards students, faculty or staff and everyone is safe.
The student has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property and was sent to Anson County Jail.
