Armed robbers hit Rock Hill auto repair shop, police say

The business owner said he was pistol-whipped by one of the suspects when they demanded money.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — An automotive repair shop was robbed at gunpoint last week, Rock Hill police say. 

Rock Hill police were called to Auto Repair Recinos on Cherry Road for a reported armed robbery a little before 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12. When officers got to the business, the owner told them two men walked in with a handgun and demanded money. When the owner told them he had no cash on site, one of the suspects hit him with the weapon before asking him for a vehicle scanner.

The owner walked the suspects into the shop area and handed them two scanners. Both suspects then ran from the business. 

No arrests have been made. One of the suspects was last seen wearing all black clothes, a blue ski mask and a black cap with a green logo in the middle. The second suspect was wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, tan pants and a gray ski mask.
