BELMONT, N.C. — A man and his 13-year-old daughter were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Waffle House in Belmont Sunday night, police said.
Belmont Police responded to a reported robbery at the Waffle House on Park Street, which is just off North Carolina 273 and Interstate 85, around 9:45 p.m. When officers arrived, the victim said he and his daughter were robbed at gunpoint by a group of men who sped off after stealing his SUV.
The victim said the suspects, who were wearing ski masks, took his wallet and his 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe at gunpoint. The thieves then sped away from the restaurant toward I-85. The stolen SUV has license plate TLZ-1099.
