Arrest made in north Charlotte homicide from 2017

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said an arrest was made Friday in a north Charlotte homicide from last year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said an arrest was made Friday in a north Charlotte homicide from last year.

Investigators said 41-year-old Grady Alonzo Hills, Sr. was charged with murder and armed robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of 29-year-old Larry Watson, Jr.

According to police, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call around 6:40 a.m. on October 8, 2017 in the 9200 block of Trinity Road.

Upon arrival, officers found Watson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.

Watson's death marked Charlotte's 71st homicide of 2017.
