FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The adoptive mother of five children – two of whom she is now accused of murdering – forced one of the children to purchase tools and dismember one of the bodies, according to an arrest warrant dated June 26.
Avantae Deven forced one of Blake Deven’s siblings to purchase tools and items from a store to use to dismember his body, according to the warrant.
The warrants also state Avantae Deven enlisted a friend of the family to pretend to be Blake Deven during a visit from the Cumberland County Department of Social Services [DSS].
On June 26, Fayetteville police Sgt. Jeff Locklear said testing confirmed one of the sets of remains authorities found belonged to London Deven and testing on the second set of remains is ongoing. Authorities believe the second set of remains belong to Blake London.
