Bomb threat prompts evacuation at Alexander County Courthouse

Court resumed following a precautionary evacuation, investigators said.

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — The Alexander County Courthouse was evacuated after a bomb threat on Monday, investigators said. 

The courthouse was cleared and court resumed a little after 1 p.m. Detectives are investigating the threat to determine where it may have originated. The courthouse was evacuated as a precautionary measure after the threat was received. 

The Alexander County Sheriff's Office hasn't released any further details or announced if a suspect has been identified. No further information was made available.
