CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office arrested three people in connection to a deadly shooting in July.
Felix Mejia, 21, Ricci Cano Puerto, 18, and Rina Cano, 20, face charges related to the death of Jeimy Bohorquez–Reyes on July 28. Mejia is charged with murder. Ricci Cano is charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. Rina Cano has an active warrant for accessory after the fact to first-degree murder -- she is currently in Mecklenburg County custody on unrelated charges.
Bohorquez–Reyes was found dead near US Highway 321 and NC Highway 268 in Caldwell County on July 28. Investigators say he died from a gunshot wound. His car was found nearby later that day in Charlotte and an apparent attempt was made to set it on fire, according to police.
Mejia is being held with no bond in Caldwell County. He is also charged in Mecklenburg County for burning personal property and malicious use of an incendiary device.
Ricci Cano is being held with a $250,000 bond.
