CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was seriously injured in a carjacking at a north Charlotte Cook Out early Friday, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at the Cook Out on West Sugar Creek Road and I-85 around 12:45 a.m. on May 17. A witness told officers that three men tried to steal the woman's 2020 Chevrolet Sonic when she was in the drive-thru. At some point during the encounter, the 23-year-old victim was shot by one of the suspects.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
CMPD hasn't announced any arrests or released any suspect information. Anyone with information about this shooting or any other incident is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
