CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use these mugshots because of the nature of the alleged crime.
Two people are now accused of killing a Charlotte man in late July 2024.
On Friday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said officers had arrested Mia Patterson and Logan Lightner, both 18 years old. Patterson and Logan were located by the department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team without incident and interviewed by detectives.
The pair are charged with killing 21-year-old Elijah Wright. Police said he was found dead on July 22 at an apartment complex off Rachel Freeman Way near Steele Creek Road. At the time, suspects had not been named.
Wright's next of kin have been informed of the arrests.
