IRON STATION, N.C. -- A woman was assaulted and kidnapped in Lincoln County, and police have arrested a Charlotte man for the crimes.

Detectives are still investigating the incident, which started at the alleged victim's home on Chase Drive on Wednesday.

Deputies say Christopher Fore, 39, began calling and texting the woman he was dating, accusing her of being with another man. Despite telling the man not to come to her house, Fore allegedly broke in through the back door.

Police say Fore hit and dragged the woman around the house. She briefly escaped and grabbed her revolver, but Fore was reportedly able to grab the firearm from the woman.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office alleges the suspect forced the victim into his car and drove to his mother's house in Charlotte. The mother convinced Fore to take the woman to the hospital.

Fore forced the woman to tell CMC staff someone assaulted her in a Walmart parking lot, police say. Thursday, the woman told her story domestic violence staff at the hospital after Fore left.

CMPD officers arrested him at his mother's house and turned over the man to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. He is charged with breaking and entering, kidnapping, assault, robbery and larceny. He was booked into jail on a $150,000 bond.

More charges are expected.
