CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Editor's Note: It was previously said the suspect and victim in this case did not know each other. It was later confirmed the victim and suspect did know each other.
A woman was sexually assaulted by a man who forced his way into her home last week, police say.
According to an incident report, the alleged assault happened on Jan. 12 at an apartment complex along East W.T. Harris Boulevard. The victim told Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police that the suspect got inside her home and demanded money before sexually assaulting her. He then ran away from the apartment complex.
No further details have been released at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
