CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department made an arrest Tuesday after a woman contacted the police about an attempted sexual assault attempt.
On Tuesday, officers responded to a call from a woman on Monroe Road who reported to officers that a strange man came into the bathroom while she was in it and attempted to sexually assault her.
Detectives identified 30-year-old Elano Cervantes as the suspect and he was located and arrested shortly after.
Cervantes has been charged with 2nd-degree attempted rape and 1st-degree sexual battery kidnapping assault on a female.
He is currently being held without bond.
