CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in northeast Charlotte, Medic says.
The shooting happened Monday night in the residential areas of Atkins Ridge Drive near Amherst Glen Drive in northeast Charlotte. On Tuesday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it was asking for the public's help in finding a suspect and offered more information.
CMPD said the shooting happened around 8:24 p.m. Officers found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds on the ground. A preliminary investigation indicates the victim was trying to buy marijuana while at a home in the area. However, a male subject reportedly approached the victim's car, firing several rounds. The victim was able to get out of the car to try and get help from neighbors in nearby homes.
