LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Lincoln County man who was wanted in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Charlotte woman found dead along a state highway last weekend was arrested on Saturday, investigators said.
The body of 18-year-old Sydney Bisson was found along North Carolina 150 in Boger City on Nov. 10, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said.
Gregory Clifford Houser, 34, was identified as a suspect in the case and deputies obtained warrants for his arrest on charges of concealing and failing to report a death. Investigators contacted Houser by phone and he agreed to turn himself in. He was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 16 without incident.
Houser also reportedly has other pending charges in Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston and Mecklenburg counties.
Houser was placed on pre-trial electronic monitoring by Gaston County officials, but he's accused of tampering with the devices. In addition to the charge related to Bisson's death, Houser is charged with a count of interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
He had his first court appearance on Monday and had his bond set at $350,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10.
There's no cause of death determined but authorities are waiting on the toxicology report.
