CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person has died after a shooting in east Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. A homicide investigation is underway.
It happened on Bonneville Drive, not far from Kilborne Park. CMPD responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
When they arrived, officers found a person who had been shot. Police identified the person as 31-year-old Tavis Denzel Smith-Hogan.
Smith-Hogan died at the scene.
The victim’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
