CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is dead following a shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
Officers responded to a call just before 2 a.m. at The Volaire apartment complex, a "relatively new" development along West Tyvola Road, where they found a man with a gunshot wound.
The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Frankie Chaparro, Jr., died at the scene, according to police.
No word on whether there are any known suspects at this time.
Officers at the scene told WCNC Charlotte there is currently no imminent threat to the public.
