CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are investigating a robbery of an armored truck in west Charlotte Thursday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said an armored truck driver was robbed at the Carolina Postal Credit Union around 7:30 a.m. on Mulberry Church Road. No money was taken, police say, but the suspect did make off with the driver's weapon.
Police have not made any arrests in the robbery, and no injuries were reported.
Police say the suspect is believed to be a black male with an average build, standing approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark-colored pants and a dark-colored bandana.
