CMPD reports: 2 sexual assaults with underage victims happened in Charlotte this week

Both assaults happened earlier in the week, and suspects haven't been identified in either case.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Editor's Note: This story discusses sexual violence. While no acts are described, reader discretion is advised.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating two sexual assaults that happened this week in which both victims were minors.

Officer reports say the first incident happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday inside an apartment on Sharon Chase Drive. In this instance, a 12-year-old was the victim.

The second assault involving an underage victim happened along North Tryon Street around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning, in the University City area. This time, it happened near the Food Lion grocery store and a 15-year-old was listed as the victim.

In both cases, no suspects were named. As of publication, more information about either assault has not been shared.
