Man allegedly caught on video peeping in Concord Mills bathroom

The suspect was already banned from Concord Mills for an unrelated incident, police said.

CONCORD, N.C. — A Charlotte man is facing charges for allegedly peeping in a women's restroom at Concord Mills Mall, police said.

Concord Police arrested 29-year-old Joshua Edward Stinson after officers responded to a report of a man looking into an occupied stall at Concord Mills on Wednesday. The victim showed officers a video that helped identify Stinson as the suspect.

Officers later found Stinson walking near the intersection of Bruton Smith Boulevard and Weddington Road, across Interstate 85 from the mall. He was charged with misdemeanor secret peeping and second-degree trespassing.

Stinson was previously banned from Concord Mills, according to a police press release. He's being held in the Cabarrus County jail without bond.

Note: WCNC instituted a policy in March 2021 regarding the broadcast or posting of mugshots.

WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.

WCNC Charlotte is choosing to show the mugshot of the suspect because of the nature of his charges and the possibility of more victims.
