CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department said a person was shot late Wednesday morning and are now looking for a suspect.
Officers said it happened sometime around 11 a.m. along Kannapolis Highway, near Concord Parkway. The victim was located with what police said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
There were two suspects believed to be involved, though police confirmed on Thursday that 32-year-old John Christopher Meece had been taken into custody and was placed under a $250,000 secured bond at the Cabarrus County jail. The second suspect was identified as a clean-shaven man wearing a white knit toboggan hat, a gray hoodie, and khaki pants.
The department said the victim appeared to know Meece and the other suspect. Police said the suspect still at large should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the suspect or what happened is urged to call 911 or the Concord Police Department at (704) 920-5000.
