CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police identified the second suspect in the deadly Aug. 24 shooting in northwest Charlotte.
CMPD said 19-year-old Darius Perry is wanted in connection with the murder of 22-year-old De'Monte Perkins.
Last week, officers responded to a call for shots fired in the 5400 block of Windy Valley Drive just after 5 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Perkins suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic pronounced Perkins dead at the scene.
On Sunday, 23-year-old Jacobe Walker was charged with murder, attempted robbery with dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with dangerous weapon.
Thursday's deadly shooting marked the city's 60th homicide of the year. Neighbors said the shooting doesn't surprise them.
“We hear and see things down here all the time,” Edward Zaremsky.
“Unfortunately this might be a shock to some people but in this neighborhood, it’s too common,” another neighbor said.
CMPD said Perry is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Perry's whereabouts or this incident is asked to call 704-334-1600.
