CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte day care worker was arrested on allegations that she put a 4-year-old in a headlock.
Investigators allege Amber Pride Porter put the child in a headlock and started beating her at the Children of America day care center on Ben Craig Drive in northeast Charlotte. The alleged incident happened on May 8, according to police.
Porter was arrested and charged with assault on a child under 12, assault on a person with a disability and misdemeanor child abuse.
WCNC Charlotte asked Children of America for a statement about the incident. As of publication, the request for comment hadn't been returned. No further information was provided by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
