Police investigating deadly hit-and-run in southwest Charlotte

Officers said they arrested the suspect and asked drivers to avoid the area.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that unfolded Saturday evening.

Officers first reported initial details around 8:30 p.m., saying it happened along West Arrowood Road near Hebron Street. While details about the crash itself weren't immediately shared, CMPD said a suspect had been arrested.
