BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were arrested after being accused of stealing from a Burke County high school, according to the Burke County Sheriff's Office.
On June 6, the sheriff's office got a larceny report from East Burke High School, noting tools and other items were stolen from the school's agriculture department.
Investigators got a tip about a driveway on East Burke Boulevard in Connelly Springs, about a mile away from the high school. Investigators saw items there that were in line with what was reported stolen.
Officials tried to reach the homeowners, and in the process saw more tools and items in the yard that belong to the school.
The sheriff's office drafted and executed a search warrant, where officials found even more reported items on the property.
Jessie James Shull and Telitha Nicole Shull were both arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property. Both received a $15,000 secured bond and were placed in the Burke County Jail.
Officials said more charges could follow as the investigation continues.
