(NECN) A man was in a Middlebury, Vermont courtroom on Tuesday after authorities accused him of posing as a doctor in order to abuse women under the guise he was giving them pelvic exams.
Nam Vu Bui could be seen praying in the courtroom as prosecutors accused him of taking advantage of a woman in her most vulnerable state.
"He represented he could determine whether a woman had cervical or breast cancer, and as such, he played on some of the gravest fears that a young woman might have," said prosecutor Dennis Wygmans.
Vu Bui pled not guilty to the slew of charges against him, and remains behind bars while the investigation is ongoing.
