Man arrested for setting fire to Salisbury apartment building, police say

Marvin Pruitt, 23, was charged with 1st-degree arson.

SALISBURY, N.C. — A man was arrested Friday night for setting fire to an apartment building in Salisbury, police said.

Marvin Pruitt, 23, was charged with 1st-degree arson.

The flames broke out around 2 p.m. Friday at 1100 W Fisher St. 

Crews were able to knock down the fire that was concentrated in the 2nd bedroom. 

Several families were being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Many agencies assisted Salisbury Fire on the scene including East Spencer and Granite Quarry fire departments.
