CONCORD, N.C. -- A former Cabarrus County teacher has been charged with having inappropriate physical contact with two female students.

Concord police arrested Christopher White, 36, on Monday. He is charged with one count of statutory sex offense and two counts of unlawful sexual activity by a teacher. Police say he turned himself in.

White, a Harrisburg native, is a former teacher at Concord High School. The offenses allegedly occurred during the 2004-2005 school year, and the victims were 15 and 17 years old at the time.

NewsChannel 36 has learned he now works at the Back Creek Christian Academy in northeast Charlotte where he teaches Latin.

People in position of authority at the schools, should not have this sort of contact, Major Allen Overcash.

The investigation began after one of the victims recently went to police.

She felt it was the right thing to do, said Overcash.

Police say they're are not aware of any other victims, but encourage people to come forward with any additional information.
