SALISBURY, N.C. — Salisbury police say they're trying to figure out how an 11-year-old-girl ended up with a gunshot wound Thursday night.
SPD says they were called to an address along Harrel Street at 9:30 p.m. for a gunshot wound. They arrived and confirmed the child was wounded, and she was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
Police say they interviewed witnesses but were given contradicting stories about what happened that lead to the shooting. Officers are now asking for information. Anyone who can provide further details should call Det. Drakeford at 704-638-5333, or leave a tip with the Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or via online submission.
