CORNELIUS, N.C. — With less than two weeks until Christmas, the "Grinch" is making their rounds in the Charlotte area, according to police.
The Cornelius Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a woman they say stole two Christmas wreaths from EDU Healthcare earlier this month. The police department even had a little fun with its Facebook post that included surveillance footage of the incident.
"Everyone at EDU Healthcare liked Christmas a lot. But the Grinch in a black cap and jacket, did not!" the post reads.
But don't worry, Christmas is a time of giving, even for Grinches. Which is why Cornelius police have a present of their own for the suspect, who was identified as 36-year-old Ashley Armstrong, who is wanted for larceny.
"Christmas will still come to this Grinch Who Stole Christmas wreaths as we have a present, also known as a warrant, just for her!" detectives wrote on Facebook. "We're hoping this message will help to grow this Grinch's heart by three sizes."
Anyone with information about this incident or Armstrong's whereabouts is asked to call Cornelius police at 704-892-7773.
