CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A student at Kennedy Middle School in south Charlotte reportedly brought an unloaded gun to campus Tuesday.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said a school resource officer was told by school staff around 9:45 a.m. that the student brought the gun and showed it to another student while on the bus. The officer then located the student in question and took the gun from them.
The student was taken into custody shortly after. CMPD said preliminary investigation suggests the student took the gun out of a gun box from home and that it had a gun lock on it.
Nobody was hurt.
