CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was shot and killed at a hotel in north Charlotte early Thursday morning, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called to a reported shooting near the Budget Inn on Old Interstate Road, which is just off Interstate 85 and North Graham Street, around 4 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot outside the hotel. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Howard Page, was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead, Maj. Michael Harris confirmed.
It's unclear if the victim was inside the hotel when they were shot or if it happened in the parking lot near where they were found.
On Monday, June 24, CMPD released a statement that an arrest had been made in connection to this homicide. The suspect is a 17-year-old juvenile.
The juvenile is facing the following charges:
- Murder
- Robbery with a dangerous weapon
- Motor vehicle theft
