CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in south Charlotte on Monday night.
The investigation is taking place on Kingsford Drive in the Steele Creek division of south Charlotte.
Officers responded to the scene shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. Once there, officers found a person, identified as Alfonso Contreras Espinosa, 54, who had been shot; Espinosa was confirmed dead at the scene.
At this time, the victim has not been identified.
