MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office is investigating after an inmate died Tuesday morning.
The sheriff's office said the victim was found unresponsive in his cell just after 5 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead a little after 6 a.m. He was identified as of 44-year old Michael Trent.
