Intentional hit-and-run kills man in northwest Charlotte, investigators said

Police found the man on Brookshire Boulevard shortly after 3:30 a.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is dead after a driver hit him with a car on purpose and drove away in northwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police officers got a call for service in the 3800 block of Brookshire Boulevard just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. There, they found a man who was seriously hurt in what appeared to be a hit-and-run. 

The man later died in the hospital. 

This was not an accident, CMPD said. An early investigation revealed the man was intentionally hit by the driver of the car.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

CMPD promised to provide more information as the case develops. 

Anyone with information about this is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective.
