Four students are suspended after a kindergartner was allegedly sexually assaulted on the way home from school.
Because the incident involves all juveniles, few details are public. Here's what we know:
On May 1, five Burnett Elementary School students were on their way home from school in Douglasville. It's unknown how many other students were on the bus at the time.
According to a statement from Douglas County Schools, "an inappropriate sexual incident against another child" occurred. One student was primarily involved in the alleged assault, but three others were also involved.
School administration found out about the incident the next morning and contacted the Department of Human Services and the Douglasville Police Department.
The four students were immediately suspended from riding the bus.
The police incident report obtained by 11Alive News has heavily redacted, and mentioned simply "sexual assault".
After Douglasville Police finished their investigation, the students were also suspended from school pending a tribunal.
