Last week, the couple’s missing four-month-old was found safe with a family member in West Virginia. Dotson was discovered missing on March 26 when deputies in Alexander County attempted to serve a warrant on him at his home in Taylorsville. The warrant was for failure to appear on charges of assault inflicting serious injury and assault by strangulation.

Dotson and Risden were found in possession of a firearm and a controlled substance. They were taken into custody without incident, police said. Both suspects are awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
