Mooresville Police officer arrested, charged with 'misconduct involving a woman'

Officer David Stephen Brashear allegedly misused government issued devises and databases, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Mooresville Police Officer David Stephen Brashear was arrested Tuesday, according to a release by the town of Mooresville. 

The 45-year-old has been charged with resist, delay, and obstruct; and accessing computers. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Town officials said the investigation began after "reported misconduct involving a woman following an encounter at a local establishment." The investigation found that Brashear misused government issued devices and databases, according to the release. 

An Officer Brashear was sworn in during November 2023 Mooresville Board of Commissioners meeting, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
